Common warts are small, grainy skin growths that typically emerge on the hands or feet. Warts are often characterized by a rough texture and often have a pattern of tiny black dots, which are clotted blood vessels. Warts usually disappear on their own in a few weeks to a few months. However, if your symptoms worsen or persist, seeking medical assistance is highly recommended.

The virus typically enters the body through skin breaks such as scratches,  or corns and callositieshangnails. If you have a habit of biting your nails, warts can also spread to your fingertips and the areas around the nails.
